Breaking Down A Winning Non-Discount Email

The Juice

Hey it’s Dylan from The Juice.
Most emails try and do too much. And when you try make everything important…nothing is.
If you want customers to convert without offering a discount, here’s the exact breakdown of the non-discount emails generating $1M+ for top ecommerce brands
Key Takeaways:
Good design makes action easy — your CTA should appear before the scroll.
Visuals win over text: use infographics to convert interest into clicks.
Great emails focus on one clear benefit to avoid confusing the reader.
Every scroll should feel seamless, leading naturally to the next section.
Multiple CTAs reinforce your message without feeling pushy.
Email Breakdown:

1. One Email = One Benefit
Your reader hasn’t opened your email to get hit with a full slide deck. They’re scanning through their inbox and can only take in chunks at a time. Instead, your email should focus on one key benefit or feature per email.
2. Hero Section That Stops Scrolls
This is where 85% of your attention should go.
Make it bold, obvious and emotional.
Avoid generic headlines like “new drop” or “shop our collection”.
3. CTA Above The Fold
If someones doesn’t scroll, are they still able to click?
Your first button needs to be in the first section of your email.
Make it big, bold and contrast to your background.
Give them clear instructions on where we want them to go and make it impossible to miss.
4. Clean Transitions Between Sections
Once you’ve got them reading, don’t lose them.
Break your email up with clean, digestible sections
If the transitions are too harsh, it disrupts our customer.
Use simple headers to bridge our story:
“Here’s why we love it”
“Why customers are switching”
“Let’s break it down”
5. Infographics > Long Copy
This is not a blog post or an essay. We’re guiding the buying process.
Take that long paragraph explaining your tech, material, ingredients etc… and turn it into an image.
Visual hierarchy matters. Infographics allow readers to absorb info quickly and remember it.
6. Repeat CTA Without Going Overboard
Place multiple CTA’s throughout your email.
One near your product section
One after a testimonial or benefit
Give your customer a place to go once they’re ready!
