I sent over 100,000 emails this month. Here's what's actually working right now for e-commerce brands in 2026.
Personal beats professional. Your customers don't want to buy from a faceless company. The brands winning right now feel come acorss as personal and friendly. You feel part of their project.
Text-based emails. Plain, simple emails that look like they came from a friend are outperforming heavily designed templates across almost every account I manage. When it looks like marketing, people skip it. Mix text based emails in with your regular sends.
Value over promotion. If the only time you email your list is when you want to sell something, your customers are going to forget you exist. Send 2-4 emails a week. 80% value, 20% promotion. Earn the right to sell.
Your pop-up is costing you. The generic "10% off for signing up" isn't cutting it anymore. Scratch-to-win, mystery offers, and quiz funnels are converting way better, and they're building a better quality list at the same time.
Creative flash sales. Mystery discounts and lotteries are generating way more engagement than a standard promo. Keep them unpredictable and spread out and your list will actually take action.
Testimonials. Your customers are more skeptical than ever. Let past happy customers do the selling. A specific, story-driven testimonial will always outperform your best copy.
Simple stuff. But most brands still aren’t doing all of them. which means if you start, you're already ahead.
